Engagement Shoot Lickey Hills

Last weekend I went to Leicester to shoot my first engagement shoot of the year. When Chelsea emailed me to ask if they could include their dog Levi I knew they would be my kind of people.
We started off with some pictures in their garden with Levi. He is such a lovely dog and so soft all he wanted to do was roll over for a belly scratch and sit on my lap for a love.
I loved their garden filled with quirky little finds. They have part of a van in the garden which was left by the previous owner who used to keep a cow in the garden!!!! Yes, you heard that right, a cow. I couldn’t help but use the van as a back drop as it looks so dramatic with a tree ripping through it.
We then moved on to Burbage Common, we braved the mud and got stuck in. We had a little walk around and found some lovely woodland, Chelsea even had a little tree climb. If I hadn’t had two cameras strapped on me I would have totally been up the tree with her 🙂
I can not wait to shoot their wedding in February, they are a really laid back couple who are up for a laugh. If the engagement photos are anything to go by I just know we are going to get lots of fun pictures.
You may remember Maxwell from the sneak peak I posted last week.
This portrait shoot was a little different for me as normally I only shoot outdoors. As Maxwell is only 8 months old an outdoor shoot was not an option.
As you can tell from the pictures that did not hold us back. He is such a happy smiley little boy and is a natural in front of the camera.
I am very jealous of his bedroom, he actually has clouds on his wall. Bedroom envy!!
I love taking pictures of children as they are so much fun and, as I am still a child at heart, I love that I get to join in with games and sing-alongs.
Fingers crossed this is the first of many portrait shoots I will get to do this year.
Thursday was all about getting this gorgeous boy to smile.
There was singing, dancing, a lot of bum shuffles and a visit from Forest the cat.
I can’t wait to share the rest of the pictures from the shoot.
A few months ago I was asked to do a portrait session for five boys as a surprise for one of their mom’s for her 30th birthday.
The boys were all so well behaved, we were able to just let them run about and captured some lovely natural pictures of them playing. Trying to get them to all sit still and look the same way… well, that was a different story!
They all looked super cute with their woollen hats on, it was a real pleasure to spend time with them all.
