Woodland Wedding, Leicester
Today is the sunniest day of the year (so far!) but Jenny & Tom’s Wedding last year was one of the wettest Weddings I have ever photographed, although you wouldn’t guess it from their pictures!
Jenny & Tom chose to have their wedding reception at the John’s Lee Wood Scout Campsite, where Tom is a warden. They complimented this by having a woodland themed Wedding, even incorporating the bridesmaids dresses with a colourful bird print.
Jenny and her bridesmaids got ready at home, making the most of the little sunshine we had that morning, before heading over to the church. Being a bell ringer, Jenny felt it was only right and fitting, that she had some of her bell ringing friends mark the occasion by them ringing in the wedding party .
As we left the church the rain arrived but it didn’t hinder us from getting a beautiful confetti shot, as the couple ran down the church steps to get into their car and escape the rain.
Although it was damp outside, the reception marque was beautifully decorated inside, using plants & flowers from their own garden, colourful bunting and postcards of places they have been around the world.
Tom chose two best men, who did a dual speech incorporating his love for the Scouts, making up their own badges for his sash and sharing stories of him from the years they have been friends.
Both Jenny & Tom didn’t want a traditional first dance, instead they opted for a ceilidh, getting the night off to a very energetic start.
Everyone had a fantastic day, proving that rain does not have to spoil your big day!
